Call of Duty 2023 Everything We Know so Far

Much has been uncertain about Activision’s upcoming release for the Call of Duty series, however, Insider Gaming has obtained confirmation that there will be a definitive Call of Duty game in the year 2023.

Reports that the game was supposed to be a “premium DLC” for Modern Warfare 2 have circulated, however, Insider Gaming has learned that the project has been re-envisioned as a complete, standalone, premium release for 2023. The game will be closely associated with the Modern Warfare series, though few details are available. If other Call of Duty games are any indication, expect a multitude of remastered maps for multiplayer.

At present, Insider Gaming has not been able to confirm the title of the next installment in the Modern Warfare series, though it is reasonable to assume that it could be christened Modern Warfare 3.

Call of Duty 2023

An important point to note regarding the game is that [Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier] stated that [Sledgehammer Games] will be the ones developing it. Insider Gaming was able to confirm this, and it is known that the title is a major collaborative effort involving Activision’s Call of Duty studios, similar to the majority of their CoD games.

Our sources have confirmed that the upcoming title is set to feature two Beta weeks, an early access period, and a marketing approach comparable to that of past premium releases. Furthermore, we can verify that the game will still be released on past-generation consoles.

We could not determine when the game would be revealed, however we could determine the anticipated launch dates that have been scheduled for it.

Dates to Note for Call of Duty 2023

  • For the first Beta weekend, taking place from October 6 – 10, 2023, PS4 and PS5 users can participate.
  • For the second Beta weekend, from October 12 – 16, 2023, users with PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC can join.
  • Campaign Early Access will be available for PS4 and PS5 users on November 2, 2023.
  • The full release will be available on November 10, 2023 for users on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
