Raven Software, the developer behind Call of Duty: Warzone 2, has deactivated the Revive Pistol. As the game is constantly being updated, it is possible that some modifications may adversely affect other in-game elements, leading to the need for some aspects to be temporarily disabled, much to the dismay of players.
The Revive Pistol is an uncommon field upgrade in the battle royale, yet when used correctly, it can be a game-changer. It enables users to quickly revive downed players from a distance, as well as a faster method of self-revival than other solutions. Possessing the Revive Pistol could be the deciding factor in a match, thus making it highly sought-after.
Raven Software, the developer behind Warzone 2, posted on Twitter to communicate that they have disabled the Revive Pistol while they look into an unspecified issue. The nature and extent of the issue is still unknown, and its relation to the Revive Pistol is also not clear. What is known for sure is that the field upgrade won’t be available for an unspecified amount of time, which means players will have to rely on other revival methods.
People have had a variety of reactions to the change, with some being disappointed and others suggesting more modifications to the game. One individual jokingly warned Raven Software to be aware of their decreasing player count, likely referring to the dwindling engagement of Warzone 2. Another response included a clip of someone spawning in a multitude of Revive Pistols, which could be resulting from an exploit that gives an unfair benefit to those using it.
It is assumed that a legacy of the exploit which was meant to be removed from Warzone 2 still persists in the Revive Pistol. If this is correct, then there is a chance that this could be quickly solved and the gun might be brought back to the game in no time.
Regardless of the problem, the news is guaranteed to dissatisfy those already disgruntled with the state of Warzone 2. People have already complained about the planned reset of DMZ Mode and the elimination of a feature that adds an extra layer to the game will likely not help to calm the situation.
Gamers can now get their hands on Call of Duty: Warzone 2 – it’s available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
