Visualization of Al Mazrah During Nighttime in Call of Duty: Warzone 2

Call of Duty Warzone 2 Map

Players have been requesting Raven Software and Infinity Ward to put a nighttime mode in Call of Duty: Warzone 2’s Al Mazrah map, but their pleas have been answered with silence. Consequently, one creative individual decided to create a screenshot of what the area could look like after dark. Although a survey sent to players has implied that traditional maps such as Verdansk could be coming back to Warzone 2, there has been no indication of adding a nocturnal version of Al Mazrah to the game.

Coming out in late 2022, Call of Duty: Warzone 2 has been met with mixed reviews. While some gamers have had issues with the game’s technical hiccups and changes to the gameplay, it still has a generally positive reception. Infinity Ward and Raven Software have been releasing updates to address some of the main complaints, and recently announced that 1v1 Gulags will be returning to Warzone 2 after the shift to 2v2 for the sequel provoked outcry from players.

Though no official announcement has been made yet, Reddit user EMADALDEN221 has come up with their own vision of what a nighttime iteration of Al Mazrah in Warzone 2 could look like. The concept was posted to the r/CODWarzone subreddit, and was met with positive reactions from the game’s fans. The image portrays a city illuminated only by the moon and faint light from windows, emphasizing the danger of the map.

People who adore Warzone 2 showed their enthusiasm for EMADALDEN221’s idea of a nighttime version of Al Mazrah, yet many expressed hesitation that it might actually be incorporated into the game. In reference to Infinity Ward’s tendency to take away popular maps and modes from their Call of Duty titles, a commenter humorously remarked “It will likely be part of a two day limited time event never to return.” Additionally, other users suggested that not only day and night cycles should be added to Warzone 2, but also various weather effects.

This amazing fan-generated concept art gives a sense of the excitement that could come from traversing a shadowy Al Mazrah. It’s improbable that a nighttime adaptation of the map will be added to the free-to-play shooter anytime soon, yet players can look forward to exploring a novel Warzone 2 map with the Season 2 update.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2 can now be played on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
