The Fontaine region of Genshin Impact is set to receive several new characters, according to a leaker. Teyvat, the main continent in the game, is divided into seven regions, each of which is associated with one of the seven divine elements.

It is said that the fifth region in the Genshin Impact game, Fontaine, will be modeled after France, the biggest country in Western Europe. This land will be home to the Hydro Archon, or Focalors or God of Justice, as it is known. The design of the various regions in Teyvat is said to be based on the real-life locations.

Over the past couple of weeks, there have been a number of leaks that have alluded to the upcoming major region, Fontaine, and its playable characters. Recently, a leak suggested 10 characters that will be in this region, leading some to believe that these would be the only ones. However, leaker SpendYourPrimos has said that there will be an additional two or three characters, one of which is a tall male. Other than the fact that the region is associated with Hydro, not much else is known about it. What is certain is that the people of Fontaine revere technology and justice above all else.

The only characters from Fontaine whose look has been revealed are Lyney and Lynette. This was done in one of the first story teasers of Genshin Impact in 2020. The design for Hydro Archon Focalors is likely to be similar to Seele, a character from Honkai Impact 3rd, which is HoYoverse’s second most famous title. This is not the first time that Genshin Impact has drawn inspiration from Honkai’s characters, as many of the playable units already in the game, such as Yae Miko, Kazuha, and Ayaka, have their equivalents in the other title.

Leaks have previously suggested that Fontaine may possess a steampunk-inspired theme. Fans have high hopes that the Hydro characters to come will be equipped with the power to manipulate steam. As for where Fontaine is located, it is anticipated that the new area will lie north of the Sumeru deserts, potentially linking it to the western portion of Liyue.

Merlin_impact, a source of reliable information, said that before the arrival of a new major locale, Genshin Impact will incorporate an expansion to Mondstadt. Additionally, the leaker suggested that some of the recently revealed Fontaine characters are connected to Mondstadt.

The highly-anticipated Genshin Impact is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile platforms. A Switch version is currently in progress.
