The demo for Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is due to be released on February 24 for all major platforms such as PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Steam for PC, according to a recent tweet from the game’s official account. Players can carry over their save data from the demo to the full game, and those who complete the demo will be rewarded with the Crouching Dragon Helmet DLC.

A custom of Team Ninja is to provide a demo with a DLC reward before a game’s availability. Right before Nioh’s unveiling, a demo was presented with the Hino-Enma Kabuto Helmet as a reward, which gave extra Amrita and perks. Furthermore, after completing the Nioh 2 pre-launch trial demo, gamers received the Kamaitachi Helmet, which amplified running speed and granted additional perks. These DLCs are not essential to the game, yet they can make the early game journey smoother.

The demos presented at the Taipei Game Show were not just for promotion, but rather the developers used them to adjust the game based on player feedback. Out of the testers, 90 percent expressed positive remarks about the improvements made to the combat, such as the quicker transformation speed and more efficient recovery mechanics compared to the prior open beta. Additionally, they praised the more aggressive approach of Wo Long in comparison to Nioh, which the developer said was intentional to demonstrate the samurai-like feel of the combat, but they found it to be unnecessary in a Chinese-inspired game.

At the event, the developers showcased fights with two new adversaries, Yan Liang and Wen Chou, both taken from Romance of the Three Kingdoms, a 14th-century novel. They desire to include as many of the Chinese warlords from the book as they can in the game, although some may not make it into the initial version. The developers are now considering including them via DLC or a season pass.

Team Ninja’s Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, published by Koei Tecmo, is set to arrive on March 3. Players will take on the role of a nameless soldier battling against distorted and demonic renditions of celebrated war strategists during the Three Kingdoms era of China. The game blends real-world history with elements of fantasy and mythology, creating a unique atmosphere.
